3/02/06 Topic

Today's Topic is:

The agony of defeat. With Duke losing yesterday, it got me thinking, as sports fans, which loss (no matter what team you like) was the worst for you to take? Being a Philadelphia sports fan, there are SO manu, but I'd say the 1993 world series was the worst to take for me...

Where to start?

The 1993 Phillies are definitely way up there, I still blame Mitch Williams.

Last years Super Bowl with the Eagles? That one is still fresh.

April 4, 1994 when Scotty Thurman hit the luckiest shot of his life to lift Arkansas over Duke for the NCAA title. That one still gets me.

The 1993 Phillies and last year's Eagles are obvious ones.

I remember when the Flyers lost to the Islanders in the Stanely Cup in 1980, that I got so upset, that I threw up.

I also remember the Eagles losing to the Raiders in the Super Bowl, and how I cried.

There have been so many Philadelphia disappointments, that I have no more tears.

Yankees losing to Boston in ALCS in game 7, and Yankees losing in Series to Arizona.... easiest ones off the top o my head.
